About Fortuity Pharma

Fortuity Pharma is a public-benefit corporation dedicated to developing effective and affordable therapies for rare diseases.

By repurposing existing drugs and nutraceuticals, we aim to address unmet medical needs in the rare disease community. Our lead effort involves bringing the drug amlexanox back to market, as it has shown promise as a readthrough therapy for genetic disorders caused by premature stop codons. Inspired by cases like Lucia’s — who saw significant improvement with amlexanox — our mission is to make therapies accessible to those who need them most.

About Amlexanox

Our primary focus is repurposing amlexanox, an anti-inflammatory drug that has been used for a variety of conditions, including asthma and diabetes.

With a proven safety profile and low production costs, amlexanox has shown success in preclinical studies for genetic disorders like cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, Aspartylglucosaminuria, and epidermolysis bullosa. We are working towards FDA approval with orphan drug designation to ensure this treatment is available to the rare disease community at an affordable cost.
